• As a symbol of young life, vincent chose the branches of the almond tree, one of the earliest flowering trees - as early as february - that announce spring.
• The subject, the sharp outlines, and the placement of the tree in the picture plane is evidence of the inspiration van gogh found in japanese woodblock prints.
• It brings together a different colour composition, with the famous almond blossom branches standing out on an ochre canvas print background.
• This quilt cover is made from 100% cotton sateen (220TC).
• The back is ochre.
